“Juana ng IMEG para sa Agenda ng Kababaihan tungo sa Kaunlaran”
The Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group- the unit of the PNP mandated to conduct counterintelligence measures and conduct law enforcement operations against erring PNP personnel has recently launched “Juana ng IMEG para sa Agenda ng Kababaihan tungo sa Kaunlaran” in line with the celebration of the 2022 National Women’s Month with the theme “We make change work for women, and subtheme “Agenda ng Kababaihan tungo sa Kaunlaran” anchored on “Malasakit at Pagbabago” or True Compassion and Real Change.
The kick-off was graced by Atty Jonie Caroche-Vestido, a member of IMEG Advisory Group representing the women sector as Guest of Honor and Speaker. In her speech, Atty. Jonie stressed that to achieve the PNP’s mission and vision mental and psychological factors are important in terms of leadership and to address diversity, identification of root causes, and creation of innovative holistic solutions to create significant impact are required. “While waiting for the law to close the gender gap in PNP, together with the Advisory Group, we can take concrete actions to advance the state of women in the police and apply the strategy of Diversity and Inclusion” she added.
Atty. Jonie also encouraged all female IMEG personnel to start the change in their own simple ways. “We can do this by diminishing psychological barriers, by creating a structure for policewomen, by mentorship, by creating a strong pipeline for policewomen, and by creating a supportive environment and strong support system for policewomen to attract more women to join our police force. Until we have a neutral gender agency, it would be hard to recruit more women, especially smarter and stronger women to join the agency for lack of better opportunity in terms of promotion and leadership that are available in other industries or government sectors.”
The activity was attended by the IMEG Director, PBGEN OLIVER A ENMODIAS, the IMEG Command Group, Division Chiefs, and all Female IMEG Headquarters personnel.
Several activities were also launched during the kick-off Ceremony such as the first-ever IMEG All-women League where IMEG Female Personnel will play Basketball and Volleyball, Tree Planting, Gift Giving, and one-day simultaneous outreach activity that will be participated by all female IMEG Personnel in National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao Field Units.
The IMEG Director PBGEN OLIVER A ENMODIAS hopes that while this Group’s mandate is in executing the punitive aspect of the internal cleansing plan of the PNP it will never disregard women’s issues and needs, thus assured that a fair and holistic approach to different programs and activities will be implemented to ensure that all female personnel will have the opportunity to grow and develop their full potential.
