The Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) Director, PBGEN WARREN F DE LEON announced the arrest of three police scalawags assigned at Rodriguez Municipal Police Station in Rizal for robbery extortion early morning of November 15, 2023.

​IMEG operatives, together with the members of SAF, CIDG, MCIU, Rodriguez MPS and Rizal PPO, successfully conducted entrapment operations that led to the arrest of 3 active PNP personnel of Rodriguez, Rizal MPS for the crimes of Robbery Extortion, Illegal Detention and Trespass to Dwelling. The arrest emanated from the complaint of the victim whose identity was withheld after he sought IMEG’s assistance when he was illegally arrested and detained by the active PNP personnel on the afternoon of November 14, 2023.

​ In this complaint, the victim stated that the three PNP personnel entered their residence on November 14, 2023 to serve an alleged Warrant of Arrest against his live-in partner for violation of BP No. 22 (Bouncing Check Law). When the said PNP personnel found that the accused was not present, they forcibly took the complainant and forced him to board on a PNP service vehicle. While on the said vehicle, the complainant/victim was beaten and threatened to cooperate or he will be charged for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Anti-Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). Afterwards, the suspects demanded PhP100,000.00 from the complainant in exchange of not serving the warrant of arrest against his live-in partner, which said amount must be given at 7:00 AM on the following day. When they returned to the house of the victim to fetch the money, they were apprehended by the personnel of IMEG.

​ The arrested suspects will face various criminal and administrative charges which could lead to their dismissal from the PNP service. They are currently undergoing booking procedures and documentation at IMEG Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

​ “We are saddened that PNP members are again involved in illegal activities despite of the numerous warnings that the Chief PNP himself has given to the entire police force. But we are also relieved that through our joint efforts, the PNP has again plucked off with three scalawags. Tuloy-tuloy ang laban ng PNP-IMEG sa mga iilang tiwaling miyembro ng kapulisan, ito ay upang mas maging ligtas ang ating komunidad sa mga pulis na tiwali sa kanilang tungkulin.” PBGEN De Leon said.
