Camp Crame, Quezon City – Philippine National Police Chief, PGEN NICOLAS D TORRE III led the awarding ceremony recognizing 16 civilian tipsters from various PNP units, whose vital information contributed to the arrest of most wanted criminals in the country. PBGEN BONARD D BRITON, Director of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG), attended the activity in support to the Chief, PNPs efforts to foster community engagement in the fight against criminality and address security related threats.
Among the recognized tipsters was one from IMEG, whose credible information led to the arrest of PCpl Salamanque, an active police officer involved in the sale and proliferation of illegal drugs in the Bicol Region. This accomplishment marked a significant blow to illegal drug networks operating in the area and highlighted the crucial role informants play in law enforcement success.
As a result of this operation, IMEG was awarded the highest cash reward of ₱325,000.00 demonstrating the group’s effective intelligence-driven strategies and unwavering commitment to police integrity and internal cleansing.
