Camp Crame, Quezon City – The Philippine National Police–Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) reported the arrest of a police officer in Cagayan following the service of a Warrant of Arrest (WOA) for violation of Article 334 (Concubinage) of the Revised Penal Code.
At around 10:30 AM on September 11, 2025, joint elements of Team 2, Luzon Field Unit-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (LFU-IMEG), and Baggao Municipal Police Station (MPS), Cagayan Police Provincial Office (PPO), PRO 2, served the Warrant of Arrest against PCpl Patrick Dem Castillejo Ponce, 32, assigned at the Regional Explosive and Canine Unit 2 (RECU 2), PNP EOD/K9 Group, stationed at Camp Marcelo A Adduru, Tuguegarao City.
The said PNP personnel was arrested in Barangay Tallang, Baggao, Cagayan, by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Eric Orolaza Labuguen, Acting Presiding Judge of the Municipal Trial Court (MTC), Second Judicial Region, Baggao, Cagayan, dated September 10, 2025, under Criminal Case No. 6686, with a recommended bail of ₱30,000.00.
The case originated from the complaint of his legal wife, who alleged that her husband was engaged in an illicit relationship with another woman with whom he already has a child.
The accused was properly informed of his constitutional rights in a language he fully understood and is now under the custody of Baggao MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
PNP-IMEG Director PBGEN BONARD D BRITON emphasized that the arrest demonstrates the PNP’s continuing commitment to discipline and accountability within its ranks.
“As guardians of law and order, we are expected to be the role models of discipline, respect, and moral responsibility. Personal misconduct that tarnishes these values has no place in the police service.” PBGEN BRITON said.###
