Agents of the Philippine National Police-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) successfully joined the entrapment operation of the Anti-Cybercrime Unit 5 (Lead Unit) that resulted in the arrest of an active Patrolman assigned at Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB 5).
In a report submitted to the Chief, PNP, PGEN BENJAMIN C ACORDA, JR, at about 5:15 PM of May 17, 2023, joint elements of Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 5 and Team 5, IMEG-Luzon Field Unit, in coordination with Daraga MPS and RMFB 5 conducted an entrapment operation resulting in the arrest of Pat Gabriel Quinto Fillone, 30 years old, assigned at RMFB 5 and a resident of Brgy. Ilaya, Balud, Masbate, after he received at M.Lhuillier Pawnshop the amount of PhP250.000.00 that he loaned at PSSLAI by using fake PNP identification card.
The said operation emanated from the complaint of the victim PNP personnel and agent of PSSLAI in Legazpi, Albay. In the report, Pat Fillone used the name of the complainant impersonating him and gave fake documents in applying for loan without the knowledge and consent of the concerned police officer. The loan was approved, and Pat Fillone claimed the loan with a total amount of PhP750,000.00 at M.Lhuillier Financial Services.
During the arrest, the following pieces of evidence were confiscated from his possession:
a. Money amounting to PhP250,000.00;
b. M.Lhuillier withdrawal slip;
c. One Galil Rifle (issued long firearm) with magazine inserted and magazine bandolier;
d. Fake PRC ID; and
e. One Huawei Y9 Prime cellphone with two DITO Simcards inserted.
The arrested suspect is now under the custody of Daraga MPS, Albay PPO, PRO 5 for proper investigation and disposition.
“I will ensure that erring cops have no place in the PNP Organization, especially under my watch as I vowed to implement an intensified Internal Cleansing,” CPNP, PGEN ACORDA, JR said in his statement.
“Ang PNP-IMEG ay handang makipagtulungan sa ibang hanay ng pulisya sa pagsugpo ng mga iilang tiwaling miyembro ng kapulisan upang maisakatuparan ang ligtas at mapayapang komunidad.” PBGEN DE LEON said.
