The fight of Philippine National Police-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group will be holistic in prevention and aggressive in operations against police scalawags in line with the 5-Focus Agenda of the CPNP. This Group conducted an entrapment operation that resulted in the arrest of two active cops and their three civilian cohorts after extorting money from the Egyptian National.

In a report submitted to the CPNP, on July 6, 2023, at about 5:00 PM, Team 4A, Luzon Field Unit-IMEG (Lead Unit); together with Counter Intelligence Division; Intelligence and Detection Division, IMEG; and 35SAC, 3SAB, PNP-SAF conducted entrapment operation at Orchard Residential Estates, Salitran 4, Dasmariñas City, Cavite that resulted in the arrest of PCpl Roderick C Bajado, married, assigned at Dasmariñas CPS, and a resident of Brgy. San Francisco, Gen. Trias, Cavite; PSSg Randy B Batonghinog, single, assigned at Imus CPS, and a resident of 9th Ave., Murphy, Cubao, Quezon City; and three civilian cohorts identified as Nemecio M. Sevilla, 38 years old, single, farmer, resident of Brgy. Anabu 2C, Imus, Cavite; Jacquiline B. Rubenacia, 40 years old, single, massage therapist, resident of Brgy. Anabu 2C, Imus, Cavite; and Jessa Rose R Dalsaitan, 18 years old, single, and also a resident of Brgy. Anabu 2C, Imus, Cavite for violation of Art. 294 Robbery (Extortion) of the RPC, after they received two pieces of PhP1,000.00 genuine marked money incorporated with 110 pieces of PhP1,000.00 boodle money (paper cut) in exchange for not filing of alleged attempted rape case against an Egyptian National.

During the arrest, the following pieces of evidence were confiscated:

  1. One unit Pietro Beretta caliber 9mm pistol with serial number N561067 with one magazine loaded with 15 rounds of live ammunition issued to PSSg Batonghinog;
  2. One unit Glock 17 caliber 9mm pistol, SN. PNP13175 with one magazine loaded with 15 rounds of live ammunition issued to PCpl Bajado;
  3. One unit Norinco NP48 caliber 40 pistol, SN. Dk001292 with two magazines and gun box for Norinco caliber 40 pistol owned by PSSg Batonghinog;
  4. One Marline rifle caliber 22, SN. 92433740 loaded with one live ammunition and nine pieces of live ammunition and riffle bag pistol owned by PSSg Batonghinog;
  5. One unserviceble airgun;
  6. One OPPO Pro11 cellphone;
  7. One OPPO A95 cellphone;
  8. Two PNP Identification Cards of the arrested PNP personnel;
  9. Two shoulder bags; and
  10. One Toyota Altis Silver Gray with Plate No. XPW 351.

The said operation stemmed from the complaint of an Egyptian National on July 5, 2023, reported to Team 4A, LFU that on July 2, 2023 at about 10:00 AM, personnel of Dasmariñas CPS, identified as PCpl Bajado together with the alleged victim and her family/relatives, came to their house and asked to settle his alleged problem involving a crime that he did not commit. Said PNP personnel further asked him how much he can pay for settlement or else a case will be filed, he will be imprisoned, and he will be exposed to social media that will destroy his reputation. According to the complainant, at the end of their conversation, the suspects demanded PhP200,000.00 from him.

The arrested persons are now temporarily detained at IMEG Custodial Facility, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City for proper investigation and disposition.

“We are intensifying our efforts to remove from our ranks those members who have violated the law,” CPNP, PGEN ACORDA, JR, said in his statement.

“Bilang pagsuporta sa 5-Focus Agenda ng ating CPNP, ang aming hanay ay walang kinikilingan sa pagtugon ng tulong maging kayo man ay dayuhan sa aming bansa, basta’t kayo ay nakaranas ng pang-aabuso ng mga ilang miyembro ng kapulisan, ang PNP-IMEG ay handang tumugon ano mang oras.” PBGEN DE LEON also stated.
