A dismissed police officer who went on AWOL (Absence Without Official Leave) was collared by the joint elements of Team Northern, National Capital Region Field Unit-IMEG (Lead unit) under the overall supervision of PLTCOL MANUEL CUBE, Regional Special Operations Group, Regional Intelligence Division-NCRPO, and Bacoor City Police Station, Cavite by an Arrest Warrant.

In a report submitted to PBGEN WARREN F DE LEON, Group Director, PNP-IMEG, it was divulged that at about 9:45 AM, August 15, 2023, an alias Warrant of Arrest was served to former PO3 Joebert G Balisang (AWOL), 50 years old, at Lot 16, Paladium St., Bacoor Cavite for Violation of Article 315 of Revised Penal Code (RPC), Estafa, under Criminal Case No. R-PSY-12-05131-CR, with bail recommended amounting to PhP 44,000.00.

The operation emanated from the Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Rowena Nieves A Tan, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, National Capital Judicial Region, Branch 119, Pasay City dated July 23, 2012.

The arrested accused lamented that he went on AWOL from the police service due to depression and marital problems. The business that he put up through the loan amount from a businessman was also busted.

The accused is now temporarily detained at IMEG NCRFU Custodial Facility, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City for documentation before the return of the warrant to the issuing court.

In line with the 5-Focus Agenda of the CPNP, PGEN BENJAMIN C ACORDA, JR. and as part of the implementation of aggressive and honest law enforcement operations, the Philippine National Police-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group never slack with its commitment to a relentless campaign against wanted and erring PNP members, both active and separated.

“Sa pagtupad ng PNP-IMEG ng kanyang mandato, hindi kami magsasawang habulin at ikulong ang mga iilang miyembro ng kapulisan na patuloy pa din na nakakalaya sa kabila nang kanilang paglabag sa batas. This will serve as a continuous warning to those scalawags in the PNP that while the IMEG flag is still upheaved, you have nowhere to hide,” PBGEN DE LEON stated.
