A dismissed police lieutenant was collared by operatives of PNP-IMEG in a joint operation carried out due to Less Serious Physical Injury charges.
According to PBGEN WARREN F DE LEON, Director, PNP-IMEG, joint elements of Team Manila, IMEG-NCRFU (lead unit), under the overall supervision of PLTCOL MANUEL CUBE, together with RSOG and RID-NCRPO and Galas Police Station served a Warrant of Arrest yesterday morning at Diamono St. Barangay Tatalon Quezon City against PLT MARIO L. PASCUAL, 51 years old, dismissed from the police service.
The operation stemmed from the Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Kristine Grace L. Suarez, Presiding Judge, Metropolitan Trial Court, National Capital Judicial Region, Branch 138, Quezon City dated September 25, 2020.
As a backgrounder to the case, the accusation hurled against the doomed police officer was an alleged infliction of injuries to the complaining victim while under police custody for an undisclosed offense 15 years ago.
The arrested cop is now temporarily detained at IMEG Headquarters Custodial Facility, Camp Ben Rafael T Crame, Quezon City for documentation prior to turnover of the arrest warrant to the issuing court. The bail recommended for the temporary release of the accused is fixed at PhP2,000.00.
“Alinsunod sa 5-Focused Agenda ng ating CPNP, ang IMEG ay patuloy na tugisin ang sinomang tiwaling pulis na nagtatago sa batas at sa likod ng uniporme ito man ay aktibo o tanggal na sa serbisyo. Kaya hinihingi namin ang kooperasyon ng ating mga kababayan na patuloy na magtiwala sa IMEG at ireport ang mga abusado at tiwaling mga pulis.” De Leon stated.
