According to the report of PBGEN WARREN F DE LEON, Director, IMEG, an active PNP personnel was apprehended by this Group for illegal discharge of firearm.

At about 8:30 PM of February 23, 2024, joint elements of Team 8- IMEG Visayas Field Unit (Lead Unit), together with Oras Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Team of Provincial Intelligence Unit- Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office and Eastern Samar Highway Patrol Group served a Warrant of Arrest at Oras Municipal Police Station, Oras, Eastern Samar against PCpl Marco M Montances, assigned in the same Police Station, 31 years old, currently residing at Brgy. Tiguib, Poblacion, Oras,
Eastern Samar.

The operation stemmed from the WOA issued by Hon. Ana Lesa Sarsoza Radaza, Presiding Judge, Municipal Circuit Trial Court, Bato Matalom Leyte dated February 22, 2024, for violation of illegal discharge of firearm under Article 254 of the Revised Penal Code with bail recommended amounting to PhP36,000.00.

The aforesaid accused is currently detained at Oras Municipal Police Station, Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office for documentation prior to the return of warrant to the issuing court.
