According to the report of PBGEN WARREN F DE LEON, Director, IMEG, a dismissed PNP personnel was apprehended by the Group for Malversation of Public Funds or Property.

At about 9:02 AM of February 26, 2024, joint elements of Team 1, IMEG-Luzon Field Unit (Lead Unit), together with Agno Municipal Police Station and Calasiao Municipal Police Station, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, PRO 1, served a Warrant of Arrest at Brgy. Nalsian, Calasiao, Pangasinan against ex-PO3 Henry M Agonoy, 59 years old, formerly assigned at Tabuk City Police Station, Kalinga Police Provincial Office and a resident of Brgy. Laoac, Alcala, Pangasinan.

The operation stemmed from the WOA issued by Hon. Marcelino K. Wacas, Judge, Regional Trial Court, Branch 25, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga with Criminal Case Number 119-2012 dated December 5, 2012 for violation of Article 217 of the Revised Penal Code (Malversation of Public Funds or Property) with no bail recommended.

As a backgrounder, the WOA was issued against ex-PO3 Agonoy, when upon his dismissal in the PNP service in 1995, he failed to return the PNP issued long firearm described as Elisco M16 Rifle (cal. 5.56) bearing Serial No. 157245, two magazines and 100 rounds of live ammos which prompted the PNP to file appropriate criminal case on October 24, 2012.

The aforesaid accused is currently detained at Calasiao Municipal Police Station, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office for documentation prior to the return of warrant to the issuing court.

“Paalala ng PNP-IMEG sa ating kapulisan na huwag maging sanhi ng ikakasira ng imahe ng ating pambansang pulisya, dahil ang aming hanay ay 24 oras na nagbabantay sa ano mang anomalya na kanilang kinasasangkutan.” PBGEN DE LEON also stated.###
